General Home Features

1930's built center entrance colonial in a quiet cul de sac neighborhood off Pine Ridge Road. Stevens Ter. is a private way. On street overnight parking is allowed.

The interior square footage of the house is approximately 1538 sq.ft. There's an additional 160 of space in the three season enclosed porch off the living room as well as another 100 sq. ft of usable space in the basement, which also has a field stone fireplace.

There are hardwood floors throughout the house. Most of the windows were replaced within the last ten years with Pella windows- the top of the line in windows!

The living room offers a wood burning fireplace which the present owner uses frequently. The mantle and crown moulding offer a nice detail of charm and character, typical of this vintage.

The dining room is unusual in that it has three hutches. Most likely, two of the built in hutches were added shortly after the original house was built.

The kitchen has the original wood cabinets and "secret" pantry and cupboards along with an updated granite counter top and stainless steel appliances. The refrigerator will remain.
The stove is gas. The kitchen provides easy access to the rear mahogany deck and yard.

The front-to-back master bedroom has with two closets. There's plenty of room to "add a bath" if one were so inclined.

The second largest bedroom now serves as a guest room and provides access to the walk up attic. There are plans available for a new expanded third floor bedroom and bath.

The third bedroom is currently used as a child's bedroom and easily accommodates a single bed, dresser and desk.

The lot size is 5220 sq.ft.

Neighborhood

This sought after location is within walking distance to Mass. Ave., Robbins Farm(now more commonly know as Skyline Park) as well as the three public schools: Brackett Elementary, Ottoson Middle and Arlington High School.

Robbins Farm is across the street from the newly renovated Brackett School. The farm is long gone but the spirit of community is alive and well in this lovely town park. Youth soccer and softball games are played here. In another area of the park, there's an extensive play area for babies, toddlers and young ones. There are picnic tables too. In summer there are Friday night movies and on July 4th you can watch the fireworks fired from the Espalnade!
In winter, the Farm is a popular spot for sledding.

If you're a nature lover or a dog owner you definitely want to take a walk through Menotomy Rocks Park. This is a 33 acre park about a 15 minute walk from the house...once you know the short cuts through Spring Ave. and High Haith Road. This is a very active park offering nature trails, a play area for young children, as well as a pond. Winter skating is no longer allowed.

For commuters, this area is popular because of its easy access to Route 2, Alewife T and Mass Ave. bus lines.

And don't forget the Minuteman Bike path that runs parallel to Mass. Ave.!
